Project Canola
Building a National Industry
Project Canola
Building a National Industry
Project Canola is an initiative to build a fully integrated and sustainable canola oil production chain in Gabon. It aims to meet rising demand for high-quality cooking oils while reducing reliance on imports and investing in local agricultural growth. This project bridges industrial strategy with food security and rural development.
Why Canola Oil?

Nutritional Benefits
Canola oil is naturally low in saturated fats and rich in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats. It’s also a plant-based source of omega-3 (ALA), known to support cardiovascular health and overall wellness.
Neutral Taste
Its light, neutral flavor makes it a versatile choice for everyday cooking. Whether used in sautéing, frying, or dressings, it lets the ingredients speak for themselves.
High Smoke Point
Canola oil performs well under high heat, making it ideal for stir-fries, pan searing, and light frying without breaking down or smoking prematurely.
Affordable & Heart-Healthy
Often more budget-friendly than other health-focused oils like extra virgin olive oil, canola oil is also recognized by global health organizations for its heart health benefits.
The U.S. FDA and Health Canada both allow health claims for canola oil based on its ability to reduce cholesterol and the risk of heart disease when used in place of saturated fats.

Project Breakdown

PHASE 01
Import & Distribute
To test market demand, we begin by importing refined canola oil and distributing it nationwide through a trusted local partner.
+Market insight
+ Sales infrastructure readiness

PHASE 02
Localize Production
With government-backed land and permits, we construct local refineries and shift to importing canola grain, enabling in-country production and value capture.
+Operational refineries
+ Government-partnered profit sharing
PHASE 03
Grow & Supply
Finally, we cultivate domestic farmland using local labor, growing the canola that will feed our own refineries — closing the loop on national production.
+Job creation
+ long-term supply chain independence
